Samsung to start Android Nougat beta program for the Galaxy S7 edge

Posted by M Techno

Samsung is notoriously known for one of the slowest OEMs to release major firmware updates since the company has so many phones, and the phones have so many software modifications. The Korean phone maker is soon launching a beta program (at least for users in the US and UK) with the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (presumably the S7 as well) where selected users will be able to install the Android Nougat update for beta testing.

With a beta program, customers (willing) can try out the latest software, complete with bugs and glitches to in exchange for reporting any inconsistencies in the software. The XDA Thread explains that the APK posted on the thread is to sign up for the Samsung Beta Program in the UK.

Granted, the beta program has not yet been officially announced by Samsung yet, however XDA-Developer member mariolcela started a thread where you can download the “Galaxy Be ta Program” app which was visible on the ‘Galaxy Apps’ store from our US-carrier branded Galaxy S7 edge. It installed fine but the app kept showing us server errors. Users in the UK are reporting they are able to successfully register at this time.
