Camera expert Juha Alakarhu - who joined Microsoft when the software giant acquired Nokias devices & services units back in 2013 - is back at the Finland-based company, according to a new Recode report.

Alakarhu helped develop Nokia’s 41MP PureView camera tech. The report says that hell be joining Nokia as head of imaging for the companys Ozo virtual reality camera. While Alakarhu chose to head back to Nokia, some other camera experts at Microsoft have now joined companies like Apple.
The news comes just a few weeks after Microsoft announced yet another round of layoffs, affecting approximately 2,850 roles this time. The Redmond, Washington-based laid off nearly 8,000 people last year, primarily in the companys phone business.
